Pictorial history of clubbing in the East

Paying tribute to Shoreditch’s vibrant nightlife, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen’s new photography exhibition celebrates east London’s clubland.

Origins East showcases the work of prolific photographers Dave Swindles, Gavin Watson, Adam Friedman and Teddy Fitzhugh – all capturing the essence and the rich cultural history of east London’s club scene since the late 1980s.

The exhibition pays homage to the club kids and ravers who made the area the go-to place for hedonistic parties, and championed free expression – with glowing neon and strobe lights to boot.
