July’s hotting up in LDN – here’s what we’re looking forward to the most

July’s arrived – but what’s in store for The Echelon? Well, if the June sunshine continues its extended holiday into this month; a whole lot of sunning ourselves on rooftop bars and beer gardens – like the rest of the city. But if it doesn’t, we’re easy – because we’ve got some awesome things to look forward to, come rain or shine.

Sounds and Sorcery, Celebrating Disney’s Fantasia @ The Vaults

The Vaults presents Sounds and Sorcery celebrating Disney FANTASIA is a brand new immersive production inspired by the classic 1940 Disney film, where a series of unique installations will bring some of the world’s most iconic classical music to life in a multi-sensory experience.

Audience members will be invited to step inside The Vaults in Waterloo, where, wearing individual headphones, the orchestra will guide them on an interactive journey. Each space will reveal a fantastical environment using a combination of cutting edge binaural sound, 3D projections, elaborate set designs and dazzling lighting effects to reimagine the many worlds of Disney Fantasia. Having attended immersive experiences at The Vaults before, we know it’s an epic venue, and can’t think of a better place to house the big D (yes, Disney). Check out more here.

Hamilton @ Victoria Palace Theatre

The critically acclaimed and multi-award winning Broadway musical is now playing at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre (in case you haven’t heard). And after frantically nabbing tickets way back last year, the month has finally arrived for us to put a stop to the constant soundtrack streaming and actually go see it FOR REALS. Tweet us @theecheloncouk if you’ve got any pre-show dinner/drinks recommendations in Victoria 🙂

100% Vegan Bottomless Brunch @ The Canvas, Shoreditch

STOP PRESS: The Canvas100% Vegan Bottomless Brunch is BACK, and due to popular demand they’re running it every single weekend over the summer! The Canvas cafe is one of our favourite locals, and their bottomless brunch has been on our radar for a while, with any breakfast item, unlimited sourdough toast and bottomless bubbles at £25 for 90 mins. Good value, and no animals harmed? We like.

If you haven’t heard of them or been before, they’re a cool cafe and creative venue with a secret basement space that supports artists and creatives, hosting live performance every Friday night, workshops and talks, film screenings and more. You can even hire their gorge venue for events. Bring on the bubbles.

Blade Runner – The Final Cut @ Secret Cinema

There’s a small chance you’ve realised by now that we’re into immersive events… Launched in 2007, Secret Cinema has taken the world of immersive experiences by storm. From grassroots film screenings in abandoned London buildings, to large-scale productions in some of the most spectacular spaces worldwide, they create 360-degree participatory Secret Worlds where the boundaries between performer and audience, set and reality are constantly shifting.

With so much kept under wraps, we’re itching to get our fancy dress costumes on, and our teeth stuck into a night of Blade Runner thrills.
